You probably do not procrastinate on everything.

You procrastinate on certain kinds of work.

The proposal with no clear first step.

The email someone might judge.

The project with no real deadline.

The task so large you cannot see the finish line.

The draft where “good enough” was never defined.

Different tasks.

Same reaction:

Later.

That matters because generic procrastination advice treats every delay like the same problem.

It is not.

If you avoid unclear work, you need a next step.

If you avoid work that might be judged, making the task smaller will not solve the real friction.

If you delay anything without consequences, another productivity app will not help.

You need to find the condition that repeatedly triggers your avoidance.

Use the Avoidance Map.

Look at the last five important tasks you delayed and classify each one into five patterns:

UNCLEAR

EXPOSED

UNPRESSURED

OVERSIZED

UNDEFINED

Example:

“Finish client proposal.”

You knew what to do.

It was not especially large.

But you kept polishing instead of sending because the client would finally see it.

That is EXPOSED avoidance.

Different cause.

Different correction.

After the paywall, you will map your five delayed tasks, find the pattern that appears most, and apply the specific operating rule that removes that kind of avoidance.
