Why Motivation Fails and How to Take Action Anyway

Motivation isn’t reliable, but action is. Discover 3 simple strategies to create progress and build momentum—even when you don’t feel motivated

Hi there,

Let’s talk about motivation.

We’ve all waited for that perfect moment when we “feel ready” to take action. But here’s the truth: Motivation is overrated.

The people who achieve their goals aren’t the ones who feel motivated all the time—they’re the ones who take action, even when they don’t feel like it.

How to Take Action Without Motivation

Instead of waiting for motivation, focus on building systems that make progress automatic. Here’s how:

  1. Start Ridiculously Small

    • Can’t commit to a 1-hour workout? Start with 5 minutes.

    • Success builds momentum, and small wins lead to bigger ones.

  2. Create Non-Negotiables

    • Set rules for yourself that you always follow, no matter what.

    • Example: “I will do 10 push-ups every morning before breakfast.”

  3. Remove Friction

    • Make it easy to start. Lay out your workout clothes the night before. Prep meals on Sunday.

    • The less energy it takes to begin, the more likely you are to follow through.

The goal isn’t to rely on motivation. The goal is to make action so simple and automatic that motivation doesn’t even matter.

This is the exact approach I cover in my guide, "7 Steps to Change Your Life."

It’s designed to help you create habits and systems that work—even when life gets tough.

If you’re tired of waiting for motivation to show up, this guide will give you the tools you need to take control and start making real progress.

Here’s my challenge for you:
What’s ONE small step you can take right now to move closer to your goal? Hit reply and let me know—I’d love to hear about it!

Keep taking action,
