When the hunger fades, but nothing's broken

Not stuck. Not burnt out. Just... disconnected. Here's why that matters more than it looks.

There’s a strange kind of drift that happens after a growth phase

You’re not overwhelmed
You’re not behind
You’re not even burnt out

You’re just disconnected from what you’re building

Nothing is obviously wrong
The systems still run
The calendar’s full
You’re showing up

But if you’re honest, the spark is gone
Not in a dramatic way
More like a low-grade fog that never fully lifts

This isn’t failure
It’s misalignment

And misalignment is harder to spot than burnout because everything still looks fine
You’re disciplined, responsive, productive
But none of it feels sharp

You’re no longer building from vision
You’re maintaining a machine that no longer matches who you are

You’ve evolved
But your path hasn’t

So now, even wins feel muted
Momentum feels forced
Rest doesn’t fix it because rest isn’t the problem

The problem is you haven’t re-decided what matters
You haven’t updated the coordinates

If that’s where you are, don’t push harder
Get honest faster

Ask yourself:

What version of me is this life still designed for

Because the longer you delay that answer
The more you’ll mistake momentum for meaning

Realignment doesn’t require chaos
It just requires truth
