Total time: 90 minutes. No breaks, no browsing, no exceptions.
0) Setup Rule (before you start)
Put your phone in another room.
Choose just one task and one tab.
Have water ready.
Close the door if you can.
Now follow this plan:
5 / 60 / 15 / 10
5 minutes - Define your goal
At the top of a page, write:
"In the next 90 minutes, I will finish: ________."
Make sure you clearly define "finish" in one sentence.
If you can't explain it, you won't succeed.
60 minutes - Work
Start the timer and focus only on that one task.
Rules to follow:
Don't switch tasks.
Don't check messages.
Only do "quick research" if it's necessary for your task.
If new ideas come up, write them down and go back to work.
15 minutes - Clean up
Now it's time to tidy up your work:
Polish your draft.
Fix mistakes.
Complete any unfinished bits.
Prepare the next step if it's a longer project.
Most people give up at this stage.
But you won't.
10 minutes - Wrap up and plan for tomorrow
Write two lines:
Done: what you finished
Next: the first step for your next session
Then stop.
End on a good note.
Leave yourself a note for next time.
