Here’s something no one tells you:
Goals are easy to set.
Standards are hard to live by.
Anyone can write down “make 6-figures” or “get in shape” on January 1st.
But if your daily standards don’t match that goal, it’s useless noise.
Look at it this way:
A goal says: “I want to run a marathon.”
A standard says: “I don’t miss workouts. Period.”
See the difference?
Goals give you permission to dream.
Standards force you to become the person who earns it.
Most people fail not because their goals are too big—
But because their standards are too low.
Here’s what raising standards looks like:
You don’t “try” to eat clean—you don’t touch junk food
You don’t “aim” to hit deadlines—you never miss them
You don’t “hope” to grow—you outwork yesterday, every day
Years ago, I had all the right goals.
But nothing changed until I raised the bar on my daily non-negotiables.
That’s when momentum kicked in.
Here’s your move:
Forget the goal for a second.
Ask yourself:
“What’s the minimum standard I need to hold—every day—to make the goal inevitable?”
Now:
What’s one standard you know you need to raise, starting today?
Hit reply. Let’s set the bar higher.
